According to Sport.es, Barcelona legend Carles Puyol has come to the aid of Gerard Pique by defending him over his involvement in Antoine Griezmann‘s ‘decision’ video. Pique was heavily criticised due to the fact that his company produced Griezmann’s documentary, which revealed whether or not he’d remain with Atletico Madrid or leave the club – likely to join Barcelona.
The Frenchman, as we now know, decided to remain with Atletico as opposed to joining their La Liga rivals. Due to the circumstances, Pique has obviously been pinpointed as one of the major culprits of this whole ordeal, however, the aforementioned Puyol believes that Pique wouldn’t have had any kind of influence when it comes to persuading Griezmann one way or another.
Both Pique and Griezmann are currently in Russia taking part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, with Pique experiencing an opening game draw with Spain whereas Griezmann scored a penalty during France’s victory over Australia.
