The Qatar FA have ended their cooperation with Uruguayan Jorge Fossati, who supposedly needed too long to recover from surgery.
Fossati recently underwent stomach surgery and the recovery time needed is unacceptable, according to a FA spokesman.
“The contract has been terminated. He should rest for at least a month and that’s too much,” he said.
Former Senegal manager, Frenchman Bruno Metsu, recently quit his job with the UAE and is now mentioned as one of the main candidates to succeed Fossati.
Qatar is one of ten Asian countries still battling for a 2010 World Cup berth.
