Competition: Premier League
Market: QPR to stay up
Odds: 2/5 @ Bet 365
With Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker likely to be Queens Park Rangers’ partnership at the heart of the defence this season, the Londoners are expected to remain in the division, despite being recently promoted via the playoffs.
After suffering relegation from the Premier League in 2012/13, finishing bottom of the table with 25 points from 38 games, manager Harry Redknapp made big changes to the squad. He based his team around a more UK-core and phased out the foreign stars who greatly underperformed. It delivered their immediate return to the English top flight, and now Redknapp has continued to build a strong squad with Premier League experience.
Ferdinand and Caulker played for Manchester United & Tottenham respectively, while the latter signed for Cardiff City in 2013/14 and was their standout performer. Their influence in the QPR side should be great, and Bet 365 are giving odds of 2/5 for them to stay up as a result.
Burnley, Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion and Hull City are some of the sides expected to struggle this season, but the Hoops are hoping their strong spine will see them avoid relegation.
