Competition: Premier League
Market: QPR to be relegated
Odds: 4/6 @ William Hill
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp didn’t seem too pleased after admitting that the London club had failed to secure any of their targets on transfer deadline day, and the Hoops’ chances of survivals look slim as a result.
The newly-promoted side are currently 19th in the Premier League table after 23 games, and have the worst defence in the division. They were expected to strengthen this month to boost their chances of avoiding relegation, but have been unable to bring in the players they wanted.
A striker was on the shortlist, to take the scoring burden off Charlie Austin, and to be able to rest Bobby Zamora at times. A defender was certainly high up on Redknapp’s transfer priorities too, as QPR’s backline continue to leak goals, but they couldn’t get the deals done.
And as a result, William Hill are giving odds of 4/6 for the London side to suffer relegation from the Premier League come May. Although the relegation battle is still wide open, Queens Park Rangers’ squad just doesn’t seem strong enough to finish outside of the bottom three.
