QPR readying sensational Beckham swoop; Amauri’s agent hints at Milan deal

QPR readying sensational Beckham swoop

Queens Park Rangers could be on verge of a sensational swoop for David Beckham, according to club owner Tony Feranandes.

The Rs managed to sign several established Premiership footballers just before the transfer window closed to boost their survival chances.

Joey Barton, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Anton Ferdinand all arrived after Tony Fernandes had completed the club takeover, and the Malaysian businessman is now keen on David Beckham.

Beckham’s contract with La Galaxy expires in November and QPR owner is hoping to sign the former England captain on a free transfer.

Fernandes hinted at such possibility via his Twitter account.

“I think having someone like David in the club would be great. Was always in my thoughts. Let’s see.”

Amauri’s agent hints at Milan deal

Brazilian forward Amauri could make a January switch to Milan, according to the player’s agent.

The 31-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements at Juventus, but he failed to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Amauri rejected moves to Marseille and Trabzonspor, but his agent claims that Milan were also in the picture.

“Let’s leave this until January, but there was a conversation with Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani,” Ernesto Bronzetti told Odeon TV.

“If a few things fall into place then, at that stage, Amauri could be a source of interest.”

Amauri has one year left on his €3.8 million deal at Juventus, and the hefty salary was one of the main reasons for his reluctance to leave the club.

“This season he’ll get €3.8m from just Juventus,” added Bronzetti.

“There was interest too from Genoa, Palermo, Fiorentina and Parma, but they couldn’t handle his salary.

“Amauri also took the decision to stay for family reasons.”

Ibisevic wants Blackburn move

Hoffenheim striker Vedad Ibisevic is still keen on a move to Blackburn, his representative has revealed.

Rovers managed to agree a £6 million fee with Hoffenheim on transfer deadline day, but the deal was called off as there wasn’t enough time for the player to undergo medical examinations.

Ibisevic is currently injured and is not expected to return in action for another month.

Should he manage to prove his fitness in Bundesliga, Blackburn would probably reignite their interest in January.

The player’s agent admits his client is tempted by the possibility of joining a club like Blackburn.

“A lot can happen in six months but Blackburn was an interesting club,” Andreas Sadlo was quoted as saying in Lancashire Telegraph.

“We checked the club – the infrastructure, the facilities – and it is interesting for us.

“It was a possibility, there were negotiations but maybe it was not the right moment.”
