Premier League strugglers Queen Park Rangers have agreed a deal to sign Argentine forward Mauro Zarate from West Ham, the Daily Mirror has revealed.
The Rangers were on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and they have decided to sign the former Birmingham City striker on loan until the end of the season.
Zarate was unhappy with his status at Boleyn Ground and he jumped at the opportunity to leave in search of regular first team football.
The Argentine enjoyed a good start to his career at West Ham, having joined from Velez Sarsfield in the summer, but he soon found himself on the fringes.
And having fallen behind the likes of Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia in the pecking order, the 27-year-old was no longer prepared to wait for his chance at Boleyn Ground.
QPR climbed out of the relegation zone as they shared spoils with Crystal Palace and they can be backed at 4/9 to avoid the drop.
