Competition: Premier League
Market: Harry Redknapp next to exit his post
Odds: 9/4 @ Ladbrokes
After suffering their fifth defeat from seven Premier League games, Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is facing the pressure. After his side lost 2-0 away to West Ham United, the 67-year-old revealed he wouldn’t sign a new deal with the London club.
“The truth is I told (owner) Tony Fernandes three or four weeks ago that I do not want a contract,” he said. “We’ll see where QPR finish the season and take it from there. If we get relegated I wouldn’t expect to stay and I wouldn’t want to.”
“I told Tony that I get on so well with him and know him so well I don’t want a contract. I don’t need one. If I’d wanted to sign the contract I could’ve done a long time ago. So we’ll see where we are come May, won’t we? I may have had enough by then and so might the people that run the club.”
As a result, many believe Redknapp could cut his ties a lot earlier with the Hoops, and Ladbrokes are giving odds of 9/4 for the Queens Park Rangers manager to be next to exit his post. Alan Pardew (Newcastle United) and Sean Dyche (Burnley) are also feeling the pressure, with some predicting the duo could be leaving their respective clubs soon too.
