Ricardo Quaresma admits it was emotional and exhilarating to make his debut for Inter Milan in last night’s friendly.

Quaresma joined the Nerazzurri for £25m from Porto on Monday and made his debut in the 2-2 draw with Lucerne on Friday.

“It was so emotional and exhilarating to pull on the Nerazzurri shirt for the first time,” he told the official club website.

“I worked well with my new teammates and it was a good test on a tough pitch made worse by the driving rain.

“I am happy to have played for 90 minutes, but still need to work hard to find the right rhythm with my colleagues and get accustomed to the tactical systems.”

Inter were 2-0 down, but with goals by Ivan Cordoba and Julio Cruz in the final 15 minutes of the match they were able to get a draw against the Swiss side.

Quaresma added: “We’re happy that we were able to get the game back on track.”
