Orlando City are close to adding the 10th new player to their roster since the end of last season.
The Lions have all but agreed a loan deal for Queretaro FC midfielder Luis Gil, who is poised to become a new Orlando City players once his move gets officially approved by the MLS.
According to Orlando Sentinel, the loan deal of Luis Gil could be made official on Thursday in a move that will see Orlando City send $50,000 in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) in exchange for Gil’s rights.
The pending move will see Gil reunite with his former manager Jason Kreis, who worked with the Queretaro FC midfielder during his time at Salt Lake City.
Gil spent six seasons at Real Salt Lake, before moving to Mexico in 2016.
The 23-year-old midfielder has struggled to hold down the first-team place, making only 14 appearances in league and cup competitions.
He is yet to score a goal for the Mexico’s Liga MX side.
