Paraguay keep their lead in the South American World Cup qualifiers after seven matches, having held the Argentinians to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
Argentina needed a win to surpass Paraguay and move into first place, but Gabriel Heinze’s own goal in the 14th minute didn’t help things for the home side.
Aguero did level the score on the hour mark but a winning goal never came.
Argentina played most of the match with a man less as Carlos Tevez conceded a second yellow card after only thirty minutes.
Paraguay lead with 14 points from seven games and Argentina are second with twelve points, but might be surpassed by Colombia later tonight.
