(GSM) – Atletico Madrid held Valencia to a goalless draw in their Europa League quarter final second leg encounter to advance to the semi finals on away goals.
After a 2-2 draw at Mestalla, Valencia needed to score at least once at Vicente Calderon stadium in Madrid as the home side held the away goal advantage.
In the first half however, it was Atletico to create the best chances although no goals were scored.
Valencia put pressure on their opponents in the second half but it was not enough for the 2004 UEFA Cup winners as Atletico kept the ball away from their goal to beat their compatriots on away goals.
