FC Barcelona secured their spot in the semi finals of this year’s Champions League, holding Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw in Germany following a 4-0 home victory last week.
Following last week’s 4-0 defeat in Barcelona, Bayern Munich knew that it would be practically impossible for them to secure a spot in the semi finals.
The Germans did put up a fight though and took the lead two minutes after the interval at the Allianz-Arena. Franck Ribery beat the offside trap to collect Ze Roberto’s pass, and went on to easily beat Victor Valdes for 1-0.
But it soon became clear that Bayern were not going to cause a major upset and instead allowed Barcelona to equalise in the 73rd minute. Seydou Keita struck home from the edge of the penalty area to set the score to 1-1.
