Brazil needed a late penalty goal from Kaka to earn a 4-3 victory over Egypt. The African champions certainly deserved more however.
Kaka put Brazil ahead in the fifth minute, and it looked like it was going to be a rather easy task for the South Americans. But the Egyptians showed that they were to be taken seriously as Mohamed Zidan equalised just four minutes later.
Brazil immediately reacted though and Luis Fabiano made it 2-1, for Juan to add a third eight minutes before the break.
While most expected a rather one-sided second half, it was in fact Egypt to stun their opponents. Mohamed Shawky got one back from outside the penalty area in the 54th minute and right after Brazil kicked off, Egypt conquered the ball to have Zidan round off a great and incisive attack.
Both sides had chances to decide the game but it was Brazil to eventually walk away with three points. Hosni, standing on the goal line, blocked a Brazilian effort with his arm with a red card and a penalty as result. Kaka made no mistake from the spot, 4-3.
