(GSM) – Internazionale of Italy have reached the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League after a 2-0 aggregate victory over CSKA Moscow.
After winning their home leg 1-0, Inter knew that all the pressure was on their opponents. One goal from the Serie A champions would leave the Russians with the task of scoring three.
And that goal came after just six minutes in the Russian capital city. Dutchman Wesley Sneijder took a free kick and sent the low effort past keeper Akinfeev.
CSKA did dominate throughout the rest of the half and created a couple of chances themselves, but failed to get the ball past keeper Julio Cesar.
Things got worse for the hosts in the fourth minute after the break when Nigerian Chidi Odiah conceded a second yellow card.
In the remainder of the half, Inter held on to their advantage without too much difficulty.
In the semi finals, the Italians face the winner of the clash between Arsenal and Barcelona.
