Scotland have lost their opening match in their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign, as FYR Macedonia successfully defended an early lead.
Naumoski put the home side ahead after just five minutes, scoring in the rebound after a free kick.
Scotland did try to do something back in the second half but the heat in Skopje, Macedonia’s capital city, didn’t help things either for the visiting side.
Consequently, ‘FYROM’ are the first leaders in Group 9 of the European qualifiers. Iceland and Norway face later today, while group favorites Holland start their campaign on Wednesday.
