The biggest win of the day in Europe’s qualifiers went to Germany, who easily beat Liechtenstein to get off to a good start.

Lukas Podolski, who seems to be Real Madrid’s new target for the winter transfer window, showed his skills with goals in the 21st and 48th minutes.

Rolfes made it 3-0 in the 65th minute and Schweinsteiger netted Germany’s fourth a minute later.

Hitzlsperger and Westermann took care of the final two goals to give their side a deserved and professional victory.

Germany are considered to have been drawn in one of the easier groups, with Russia, Wales, Finland, Azerbaijan and today’s opponents, Liechtenstein.
