Middlesbrough are save from relegation following a 2-0 win over Portsmouth, who in turn suffered a big blow in their battle for UEFA Cup football.

Riggott put ‘Boro in the lead with five minutes to play in the first half, and Tuncay Sanli doubled the score eight minutes into the second.

For Middlesbrough, the three points are enough to allow the team to appear in the Premiership yet another year.
