FC Barcelona at least managed an away goal as the Spanish giants were held to a 1-1 draw by Olympique Lyonnais in France.

The Catalan visitors didn’t start the way they hoped for as Lyon took the lead on only seven minutes. Brazilian specialist Juninho took a free kick from the left wing, and surprised keeper Victor Valdes for 1-0.

But Barcelona fought their way back into the match after the break and equalised in the 67th minute. A Lionel Messi corner was flicked on by Rafael Marquez, and Frenchman Thierry Henry headed home from close range.

The return leg is scheduled to be played on March 11, at Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium.
