(GSM) – Girondins de Bordeaux are close to the quarter finals in the UEFA Champions League following a 0-1 win at Olympiakos on Tuesday.
The first half in Athens appeared to go by without goals, but the French visitors had different plans and opened the scoring two minutes into added time.
Bordeaux were given a free kick on the left and Yoann Gourcuff swung it in for Michaël Ciani head past keeper Nikopolidis from close range.
In the second half, neither side was particularly dominant but for Bordeaux it was enough to defend their narrow lead and take a big step in the direction of the quarter finals.
The second leg in this Round of Sixteen clash will be played in Bordeaux on March 17.
