Portugal haven’t been able to impress against Albania in Wednesday’s Group 1 qualifier, and dropped two valuable points on the road to the 2010 World Cup.

The most notable event at Braga’s AXA Stadium was a second yellow card for Albania’s Admir Teli in the 42nd minute, after having come on as a substitute eighteen minutes earlier.

But the Portuguese failed to take advantage, which keeps them stuck in third place in this group.

Semi finalists at the 2006 World Cup, Portugal have a long way to go with only five points from their first four matches. Denmark and Hungary currently occupy the top two spots.

Albania on the other hand, have the same amount of points as Portugal but a less positive goal difference.
