Turkey and Belgium have held each other to a 1-1 draw at the Sükrü Saraçoglu stadium on Wednesday.
The Belgians, who won their opening match over Estonia last Saturday, took the lead in the 31st minute when striker Wesley Sonck headed home from a Verthongen free kick.
But the Turks came back in the second half, with Belgian Axel Witsel handling the ball in his own penalty area after 73 minutes.
Veteran Emre Belozoglu dealt with the pressure and struck into the lower left corner with goalkeeper Stijnen beaten.
Belgium and Turkey are expected to battle for one of the two top spots in this group, with Spain as favorites to finish in first position.
