Brazil are practically certain of a spot in the semi finals following a easy 3-0 victory over the United States in their second group game.

While giving the Italians some serious trouble on Monday, the Americans simply couldn’t compete with a much stronger Brazilian side.

Felipe Melo headed home from a Maicon free kick after seven minutes and a Robinho strike made it 2-0 in minute 21.

A great Brazilian attack two minutes after the hour allowed Maicon to lift the ball over keeper Howard for his side’s third and final goal.

The United States, having lost both of their games, will be officially out of contention if Italy don’t lose to Egypt later on Thursday. If Italy draw or win, the Brazilians will be certain of their semi final spot.
