Quick Report: United, Villarreal victorious in Group E

Manchester United and Villarreal did themselves great favours beating Celtic and AaB Aalborg respectively on Tuesday.

United needed thirty minutes to break the deadlock against Celtic in the Battle of Britain, with Dimitar Berbatov scoring for 1-0.

The Bulgarian added a second to his account in the sixth minute after the break and Wayne Rooney made it 3-0 in the 76th minute.

Villarreal beat Aalborg in a spectacular game that would contain no less than nine goals.

Aalborg took the lead through Saganowski in the 19th minute but Rossi levelled nine minutes later. Capdevila soon made it 2-1 but this time it were the Danes to reply fast through Enevoldsen.

Llorente then made it 3-2 in the 67th minute and added another in the 70th. Johansson got one back for the guests in the 77th minute but Villarreal soon finished it off through Pirès and a third from Llorente.

United and Villarreal occupy the top two spots with seven points each, while Celtic and Aalborg both have one point and advancing to the next round seems to be unlikely.
