The contract between Adrien Rabiot and Paris Saint-Germain is about to expire, and it will represent a culmination and conclusion of an extremely long transfer saga.
The Frenchman refused three different offers of an extension from the Ligue 1 champions, and for most of the season he was heavily linked with Barcelona. However, the Catalan club have secured the services of Frenkie de Jong instead, leaving Rabiot to look elsewhere for his potential new employers.
In the meantime, links appeared with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Juventus, but now Canal+ report that the 24-year-old has agreed to join Barcelona’s arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Apparently, he made his decision inspired by the Real and France legend that is now once more in charge of the team at Santiago Bernabeu – Zinedine Zidane, and is very keen to learn from him.
The Champions League holders have also been credited with strong interest in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen.
