Race hots up for Debuchy
The Journal is reporting that Marseille are the latest side to have joined the race for Newcastle United full-back Mathieu Debuchy.
The 28-year-old is reportedly hoping to leave Magpies for greener pastures this summer and it appears he will have no shortage of offers this summer.
According to the Journal, Marseille, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are all keeping close tabs on the France international.
Newcastle are not too keen on selling their prized asset, but it is believed they will consider offers in the region of £12 million.
Mathieu Debuchy joined the Magpies from Lille in January 2013 and has since featured in 43 Premier League matches, scoring one goal.
He has started three matches for France at the 2014 World Cup and should be on the pitch when les Bleus face Germany on Friday, with Didier Deschamp’s charges 5/4 to qualify for the semis.
Bryan Ruiz wants La Liga move
Costa Rica star Bryan Ruiz is hoping to move to Spanish La Liga, according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
Having struggled for playing time at Fulham, the forward joined PSV Eindhoven on a short-term loan in January in an attempt to stay in good shape ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
And while the Dutch side hoped to turn his loan deal into permanent switch, that seems highly unlikely after he impressed at the tournament finals in Brazil.
De Telegraaf understands that Ruiz is keen on a La Liga move and it remains to be seen whether Spain is indeed going to be his next destination.
The 28-year-old has been in scintillating form at the 2014 World Cup, scoring two goals in four matches to help Costa Rica make it to the quarter-finals.
Ruiz has another year left on his deal with Fulham, but chances are he will not be returning to Craven Cottage this summer.
Juventus bid for Romulo
Italian giants Juventus are stepping up their efforts to sign Hellas Verona midfielder Romulo, reports Tuttosport.
The Bianconeri have been impressed by the Italy international and they look set to try and lure him to Turin.
Hellas Verona recently purchased his contract from Fiorentina, but with his €1.3 million yearly wage proving to be a major burden on the club’s budget, the Gialloblu are ready to entertain offers for his services.
And while they are reportedly holding out for €20 million, Juventus plan to start the bidding at €12 million.
Romulo, 27, has kick-started his career at Bentegodi following a somewhat disappointing spell at Fiorentina, having scored 6 goals in 32 league outings last term.
He was even on the verge of making Cesare Prandelli’s World Cup squad, but eventually decided to pull out due to the lack of match fitness.
