Race hots up for Islam Slimani

A number of Europe’s top sides have been showing interest in Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani, Record can reveal.

The Algerian was also linked with a move away from Estadio Jose Alvalade in January, but he eventually remained with the Lions.

However, his decision to change his representative and start cooperation with famous agent Federico Pastorello is enough to suggest Slimani hopes to leave the club for greener pastures at the end of the season.

According to Record, the likes of Napoli and Fiorentina have joined the race for his services, but the English Premier League remains the most likely destination.

Namely, West Ham, Leicester City and Crystal Palace are all keen, and some of these clubs can be trusted to step up their interest in the coming weeks.

It is important to note though that Sporting want around €15 million for the player who scored 11 goals in 19 league outings this season.
