Nigerian international John Obi Mikel is attracting plenty of interest from Europe’s top club who are looking for a possibility to grab the experienced midfielder on a free deal.
According to the La Gazzetta dello Sport however, the likes of Valencia and Olympique Marseille have been given a huge blow to their attempts to prise the 29-year-old as Chelsea faithful servant appears to have his heart set on joining the Serie A fallen giants Inter Milan.
Nerazzuri have made great investments during last summer, but have seen little yield to their efforts this term and are prepared for a major January makeover.
Stevan Jovetic, Biabiany, Rodrigo Palacio, Felipe Melo and summer arrival Geoffrey Kondogbia are the players expected to leave once the transfer window reopens.
French international Greoffrey Kondogbia has been pinpointed as the biggest disappointment for Inter and John Obi Mikel should arrive as direct replacement for out-of-favour Frenchman.
Obi Mikel is believed to have already accepted Inter’s offer, according to reports from Italy.
