Championship club Aston Villa are only a number in line of sides keeping tabs on the experienced Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.
According to the reports coming from Mirror, West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City are all keen on landing the 36-year-old who appears not to be a part of Jose Mourinho’s plans this season.
The Portuguese manager pushed Michael Carrick down the pecking order behind the likes of Nemanja Matic, Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba and it’s quite hard to imagine the veteran midfielder being able to fight his way back to the starting role.
The veteran midfielder has only started one match this season, a Carabao Cup clash against Burton Albion and his first-team status is said to have alerted a host of English clubs prepared to offer him a change of scenery.
Carrick himself is said to be frustrated with the lack of options under Jose Mourinho but is not thinking about leaving the club he’s been with since 2006.
