Race hots up for Ruben Neves

German media outlet Sport Bild has claimed that a number of Europe’s top sides are keen on FC Porto starlet Ruben Neves.

The 18-year-old last night became the youngest captain in Champions League history as he led the Portuguese giants in the clash with Maccabi Tel Aviv, producing yet another impressive showing at the biggest stage.

It is, therefore, not surprising that top European sides are casting admiring glances his way, with FC Porto representatives facing a tough battle to keep hold of their prized asset.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have long been keeping close tabs on the central midfielder, while Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Liverpool are keen as well.

Neves has already been likened to Andrea Pirlo and Sergio Busquets for his style of play, while his release clause stands at over €40 million at the moment.

Following the victory over Maccabi, FC Porto sit two points clear at the Group G summit and they are 4/6 to remain there come end of the group phase.
