Lyon midfielder Rachid Ghezzal has rejected an offer to join Premier League outfit Everton, L’Equipe can reveal.
Seeing as how he has just another year left on his current deal at Parc OL and that negotiations over a contract extension were not going according to the plan, the 24-year-old was widely expected to leave les Gones for greener pastures this summer.
While West Ham and PSG are also keen, it was Everton that submitted the most lucrative proposal, but they have now been informed that the player is not ready to move to Goodison Park.
Namely, Ghezzal does not want to join a club that do not take part in European competitions, while he also appears ready to extend his stay at Parc OL.
The winger has so far bagged 11 goals and produced 13 assists in 81 competitive outings for Lyon, while scoring once in six appearances for Algeria.
