Racing Santander have agreed to release coach Juan Ramon Lopez Muniz from his contract, the Primera Liga club said on their website.

The move comes, after heavy speculation by the Spanish media that he might replace Antonio Tapia at Malaga.

Muniz, who led the club to a 12th place last season, returns to Malaga after a year with Racing.

Tapia quit at the end of the season and was appointed to take over at relegated Real Betis.
