Le 10 Sport has learned that Colombian striker Radamel Falcao should be staying at Stade Louis II beyond the current season after all.
The experienced forward was widely expected to move to China in the summer transfer window, and the club chiefs didn’t want to stand in his way.
However, latest reports suggest that Falcao is now ready to stay at Monaco, and his agent Jorge Mendes has opened talks over a new deal for his client.
The 31-year-old has a contract until June 2018 at Stade Louis II that is likely to be extended for a couple of years.
Following disappointing spells with Manchester United and Chelsea, Falcao managed to rediscover his form after returning to Monaco, going on to score no fewer than 28 goals this season.
The Principality club can now make a giant step towards the Ligue 1 trophy by defeating Nancy on the road and they can be backed at 8/15 to succeed in their quest.
