Radja Nainggolan is somewhat of an enigma in modern football, not least because of his habit of smoking, while still remaining one of the world’s top midfield talents. The Belgian international’s misjudged Instagram post that featured alcohol and cigarettes during his New Year’s celebrations earned him a suspension by current club AS Roma, and now he will be shipped off to the Chinese Super League to ply his trade for Guangzhou Evergrande, according to the Mirror.
The midfielder has already reportedly given up hopes of appearing for Belgium at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, mainly due to his conflict with manager Roberto Martinez regarding the smoking habit. With that in mind it is little surprise that he has been tempted by a move to China.
Nainggolan is in his fourth season with the Serie A giants, and has established himself as a crucial player in the heart of their midfield, as well as one of the best players in Europe in his position. With two goals and three assists in 15 league appearances this season, the Belgian is a master in all areas of the pitch.
