Rafa Benitez calls out Mike Ashley

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has sent an obvious message to Mike Ashley, indicating that it’s ‘concerning’ that the season is just 10 days away and the club has yet to make any more major additions to their squad. Benitez has stated that if they aren’t able to improve then they’ll suffer in comparison to the clubs around them, as the fans continue to plead with Mike Ashley to make the changes necessary in order for them to succeed.

The ongoing silent war between Rafa and Ashley has led to some fans indicating that if Benitez does end up leaving the club, then they’ll leave right alongside him. The fans have been forced to put up with him for many years now and given the circumstances, a lot of neutral fans find themselves backing the Magpies’ movement – despite the fact that many of the clubs around them will be battling it out to avoid relegation.
