Rafa: Liverpool still have a chance

(GSM) – Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez hasn’t ready to give up the hopes in Reds’ bid for a top four finish.

The Reds could cut the gap on fourth-placed Tottenham to just two points with a victory over Burnley this afternoon and while the Londoners would still have a game in hand, the Spaniard believes his side can still make a late bid to land the final Champions League place.

“We still have a chance,” Rafael Benitez told the Liverpoolfc.tv.

“We know it will be difficult but we are still in it. We have a chance, so we will just have to keep doing our job.

“We must try to win the first game and see what happens. If we win that then we will have more confidence and we will have to try to do the same against Chelsea and then against Hull,” Reds boss guided.

Liverpool head to Turf Moor knowing that a win would effectively relegate the Clarets and Benitez is wary that the scenario could act as a spur for Brian Laws’ outfit.

“It’s not easy to go there,” he concluded.

“They are trying to avoid relegation, so we know it will be a tough game.

“I think they will be dangerous. Fletcher has been doing well, working hard for them so we will have to keep an eye on him,” Rafa warned his players.
