Mexican international Rafa Marquez have signed a contract with MLS side New York Red Bulls.
The 31-year-old was released from his contract by Barcelona two days ago but he has already found a new club and he will be officially presented at Red Bull Arena on Tuesday.
“Coming to New York and playing in Major League Soccer was a chance that I could not refuse,” Marquez said in a statement released by his new team. “I am committed to doing my very best to help the Red Bulls in their playoff push this year and compete for championships in the years to come.”
Together with Juan Pablo Angel and Thierry Henry, Marquez now make a trio of world-class stars who should help Red Bull in their push for honors.
