Rafa Benitez is reportedly chasing 35-year-old Bordeaux keepr Ulrich Rame, providing the ex-French international is happy to play second string to Jose Reina at Anfield.
The Guardian today reports that Benitez has offered the Bordeaux number one a two year contract at Liverpool, and hopes that the signing of the Frenchman will provide increased competition for Reina.
Current back up keeper Charles Itjandje has made several first team appearances this season, yet Itjandje may be on his way to Bordeaux as part of the deal for Rame. However it still remains unclear whether long serving servant Rame will accept a lucrative contract from Liverpool in place of regular football at his beloved Bordeaux.
