French giants Monaco are keeping close tabs on Sporting Braga midfielder Rafa Silva, according to Le 10 Sport.
The Principality club were alerted of the player’s potential earlier this season, and the latest reports suggest they plan to add him to their ranks in the summer transfer window.
It was club owner Dmitry Rybolovlev that has instructed club officials to make a move on the attacking midfielder.
Rafa Silva only joined Sporting Braga from Feirense in the summer, but he has enjoyed a brilliant start to his career at Estadio AXA.
The 20-year-old went on to score 3 goals in 19 league outings for the club, catching the eye of clubs like Southampton, Seville and Bayer Leverkusen in the process, while earning his first Portugal cap in midweek.
Monaco, however, remain the number one favourites to win the chase for his signature as they look to reinforce the squad having all but secured Champions League qualification.
Claudio Ranieri’s charges play host to relegation-threatened Sochaux next weekend, and are 2/9 to claim maximum points.
