Portuguese giants Benfica have finally completed a deal for Sporting Braga hotshot Rafa Silva, it has been revealed.

The Eagles announced the transfer on their official Twitter account and they are believed to have splashed out €16 million on one of Portugal’s hottest prospects.

Their bitter rivals FC Porto were also in the mix, but Benfica eventually managed to secure the signature of the Portugal international.

Rafa Silva made a name for himself at Sporting Braga and he was a member of the Selecao squad that won the Euro 2016, albeit playing just a couple of minutes of football at the tournament finals.

The attacking midfielder scored 13 goals in 88 Primeira Liga appearances, and he now gets a chance to represent one of country’s most famous clubs.

After beating rivals Sporting CP to the league trophy last season, Benfica can be backed at 13/8 to defend the title.
