Manchester United defender Rafael says he has told Sao Paulo midfielder Lucas Moura he should join him at Old Trafford.
The playmaker has been strongly linked with a move to United in recent weeks, and after having a bid of 27 million pounds rejected, Goal.com exclusively revealed plans to make an improved offer of 32 million for the starlet.
Rafael, along with Lucas, is in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming Olympic football tournament, and is confident of his international team-mate’s ability to make the grade in England.
“Yes, I have told Lucas he should come to Manchester United, of course,” Rafael told The Daily Mirror.
“If you saw the way we played at Middlesbrough (against Team GB) you will know Brazilian players can play well in England.”
The United youngster has also talked up the ability of Oscar, who has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea and also looked impressive in Brazil’s 2-0 win over Team GB on Friday.
“I have heard about Oscar coming to Chelsea,” Rafael said.
“He is a good player and very important for us (Brazil). I really think he will do very well in the Premier League because he is a talented player.”
After seeing his twin brother Fabio move to QPR on loan, the defender is also hoping to have a good season at Old Trafford, admitting he will have to adjust to life without his sibling.
“It will be a different season for me with my brother Fabio being on loan at QPR. We are always together, but maybe it will be good,” Rafael said.
“We will speak when he is playing for QPR and see what happens.”
