Bayern Munich full-back Rafinha has moved to deny speculations linking him with a summer move away from Alianz Arena.
The Brazilian has seen little playing time this season and was in turn linked with a summer exit and more recently with a return to Schalke.
It was no secret that the Bavarians were keen on keeping hold of the 27-year-old, and it appears the player himself would rather remain at Alianz Arena.
“Bayern want me to stay. I have a contract. And I am happy in Munich,” Rafinha explained to Bild.
“There is a new coach, everything starts from scratch. This is a great motivation for everyone.”
Rafinha joined Bayern Munich from Genoa two years ago, but he has failed to nail down a regular starting berth at Alianz Arena.
After making 24 Bundesliga appearances in his first season at the club, the Brazilian featured in just 13 league games last term, although he did manage to score two goals in the process.
However, it appears the club officials are perfectly happy with the standard of his performances and they see him as a decent back-up for captain Philipp Lahm.
