Raheem Sterling 7/5 to score anytime against Brighton in Saturday’s Premier League showdown

Market: Raheem Sterling to score anytime

Odds: 7/5 @ 888sport

Simply looking to end their worrying record away from the Etihad, Manchester City will make the trip to an empty Amex on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Brighton might have all but confirmed their Premier League status for another year, the Seagulls have continued to show some worrying inconsistencies at the Amex. Making a string of costly mistakes against newly-crowned champions Liverpool earlier in the week and hit with a 3-1 defeat, Graham Potter’s side have now shipped a trio of strikes in back-to-back contests on the South Coast. In fact, aside from their stunning comeback against Arsenal on their return from the enforced break last month, Brighton have failed to win any of their other seven contests at the Amex, a run that also saw them come crashing out of the FA Cup at the hands of Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the year. Hit with a 4-0 drumming when the two sides faced off earlier in the season, the Seagulls could be in for another overwhelming test on Saturday night.

As for the visitors, while Manchester City might be continuing to show some rather glaring issues away from the Etihad, Pep Guardiola’s side put on a real clinic in midweek. Still with their sights set on European success this season, the Sky Blues picked up a thumping 5-0 romp against Newcastle on Wednesday and will be looking to make a similar statement on the South Coast this week. Undoubtedly, one man to keep an eye out for will be the red-hot Raheem Sterling. Once again finding the net against the Magpies earlier in the week, the England international has now recorded three goals in his last four Premier League appearances. Enjoying his most prolific campaign in the blue half of Manchester, Sterling should be confident of extending on his tally this weekend.
