Football Association of Ghana has confirmed Milovan Rajevac’s has left the post of the national team coach.

The Serbian coach was widely expected to extend his contract with the Black Stars but he instead handed his resignation on Monday.

Ghana’s Football Association spokesman Randy Abbey said: “He (Rajevac) has informed the Ghana Football Association that he wants to move on with new challenges.”

Rajevac, who led Ghana to Africa Cup of Nations final and World Cup quarterfinals, is said to have accepted the offer to coach Saudi club Al Ahly Jeddah, which was the biggest reason behind his decision to quit Ghana.

The GFA had given Rajevac until Sunday to sign a new four-year contract.
