Rakiti?: Contract talks still going on

(GSM) – Schalke 04 midfielder Ivan Rakiti? has expressed that he is quite pleased with the progress of contract discussions with the Gelsenkirchen outfit despite reports linking him a move to Italy.

The Croatia international’s, whose deal is set to expire in the summer, has been rumoured to be a January target of Juventus, Milan and Napoli.

But the 22-year-old who has been an integral part of Felix Magath’s plans since last season, has made it known through his agent last week that he was not openly seeking a move.

The player, who was once linked with a move to Everton, has now revealed that he has been holding meetings with his club and he has been pleased with the developments.

Former Basel star told Reviersport newspaper: “Talks have taken place with manager Felix Magath.

“We have been having discussions and thus far everything looks really good.”
