Rakitic frustrated at Barcelona

“I don’t understand the situation because I want to play,” he said. “If I can play, there is no better place than Barcelona.” 

Those are the words of Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic who has made it perfectly clear that he doesn’t really understand why he isn’t being given more opportunities to succeed in the first team at the Nou Camp. At this moment in time it doesn’t really appear as if he’s being viewed as a featured member of the first team squad. 

He’s only made two starts in La Liga so far this season, and considering his pedigree, you would’ve thought that it would have been a bit more consistent than that. 

Rakitic was once viewed as one of the top midfielders in world football but as the years have gone on, the battle for such a title has become a whole lot more crowded – and will continue to grow.
