“I don’t want to be anywhere else. I hope the club, the president, the coach and the fans see this the same way I do. I hope they tell me that I’ll stay here for another three years.

“I’d like to be able to point to the three more years on my contract and to say I’ll be here three more years. Anything can happen in football, but I am very calm about it all.”

Those are the words of Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic, who has made it known that he wants to remain at the Nou Camp this summer. Rakitic currently has three years left on his contract but it’s well known that there is a lot of interest in him from around Europe – with the primary contenders being Manchester United and Inter Milan.

For now, though, despite the big names, it seems like Rakitic is more interested in cementing his place in the starting line up with Barca.
