According to A Bola, Ramires could be arriving in Portugal tomorrow in order to finalise a loan move to Benfica. The 31-year-old midfielder has been with Chinese club Jiangsu Suning for the last two years of his career, when he made the big money switch from English Premier League club Chelsea. Many fans have questioned whether or not he’d ever return to European football, and now, it seems as if the Brazilian is close to making that a reality.
Ramires career really reached the next level courtesy of his one year tenure with Benfica, when he attracted the attention of many top clubs around Europe. In the end, it was the Blues who caught his eye, and in his six years at Stamford Bridge he wound up becoming one of their most decorated midfielders. From his tenure there alone he managed to win the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League and the Europa League.
