According to Record, Ramires’ move from Jiangsu Suning to Benfica on a season long loan is a done deal. The 31-year-old made the jump over to Chinese football after spending six years with Chelsea, but before that, he did have a year-long spell with Benfica. The Portuguese side helped him to develop his game and thrust him into the limelight, and now, he seems set to return as he tries to embed himself back into the European game.
Ramires is still young enough to make an impact over here, especially in Portugal where the top division isn’t nearly as competitive as it is elsewhere. Ramires is set to arrive in Lisbon tomorrow when he will officially complete his medical, as the race to push this deal through continues.
Benfica will be hoping to seal the deal prior to the second leg of their Champions League play-off against PAOK tomorrow night.
