According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is close to coming to terms on a new contract with the club.
Ramos is understood to have lowered his salary demands, inviting plenty of questions as to what they initially were.
The veteran defender is best known for being a world class player but, shortly behind that, he’s also known for his antics both on and off the pitch.
He will happily wind up the masses if it suits him or helps his agenda, and based on this report, he thinks quite a lot of himself.
Obviously he’s entitled to give his opinion on what he’s worth but at the same time, 35 isn’t usually the age where players get to make overwhelming demands.
Whatever the case may be you’d have to imagine Madrid fans will be happy about this news as he continues to build on his legacy with the club.
