According to a recent report from AS, Sergio Ramos’ reluctance over signing a new Real Madrid deal came down to the money involved.
This is because the veteran didn’t want to have to take a 10% pay cut that was being asked of him, despite probably earning enough cash for ten lifetimes throughout the course of his illustrious career.
Real Madrid have made it clear that they would prefer to see Ramos remain at the Bernabeu but if that doesn’t quite come to fruition, there is every chance he will entertain a move elsewhere. He’s still in a strong position when it comes to his form on the pitch, he’s obviously interested in testing the waters in a different league, and there would be no shortage of teams who would want to utilise his leadership abilities.
It all comes down to compromise, and that could lead to quite the stand off.
